Liddy's Favorite Quote
"The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we
counted our spoons."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson |
"Liddy Midnight weaves spells with her words. Don't miss her!"
~ Maggie Shayne
About

Liddy Midnight thrives in
present-day Earth, with a successful business, a strong man by her side
and a magickal imagination. Having long been e-published, she has
staying power. Now that she's signed with Ellora's Cave, her stories are
available in print as well as digital formats. She also collaborates,
partnering with another award-winning author to write The Fantasy Shoppe
series as Annalise, and most recently with Cricket Starr.
Liddy writes action-driven stories set everywhere from a Dark Ages world
of magick to far-flung planets. Here, you'll find mages, dragons, and
barbarians–and the women who love them. So grab yourself a cold drink
and come along for a hot ride! Sign up for her newsletter and join her
blog.
Bio

Liddy loves, works and writes in
the woods of eastern Pennsylvania, surrounded by lush greenery and
wildlife. Although raccoons, possums, skunks and the occasional fox eat
the cat food on her back porch, she's no more than half an hour from
some of the finest shopping in the country. Situated in this best of all
possible worlds, how could she write anything other than romance?
Living in a Victorian cottage with Mistah Midnight and her 4 rescued
felines, she has found the best this world can offer, and she shares the
other worlds of her imagination through her books.
Favorites
What is your favorite color?
Purple. And green. Green is the color of money. Purple is the color of
royalty. I want both.
What is your favorite quote?
"The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
What is your favorite pastime?
Goofing off. That means either reading or messing with beads and jewelry
findings, or playing with the cats.
What music do you listen to?
Country. The whiny, through-the-nose old-time type, like Dwight Yoakum
and Emmy Lou Harris. Also Toby Keith, Rodney Crowell, Alan Jackson, Neal
McCoy, Vince Gill, Terry Clark, Reba, and their peers. I really like
humorous songs, such as "Is It Still Over?", "She's Crazy for Leaving",
"Girls Lie Too", and "It's Hard to Kiss the Lips at Night (That Chew
Your Ass Out All Day Long)".
What is your favorite kind of movies?
Funny. Action/Adventure. SciFi Favorites include Overboard, Enemy Mine,
DragonHeart, Romancing the Stone, What About Bob?, Groundhog Day,
Ghostbusters, Major League, Home Alone, Scrooged, Jackie Chan's movies,
almost everything Arnold Schwarzenegger has made (with the exception of
Conan, they have strong female characters!), Peter Jackson's Lord of the
Rings trilogy, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and so many more
I can't list them all.
What books do you like to read?
Ones with happy endings. Mysteries. Thrillers. I like a good action
plot. I'm not a fan of stories that are purely about relationships. Gag!
What are you reading now?
Nomads and Empire Builders, by Carleton Beals (research) I'm between
fiction books right now, but in the queue are Ann Cory, Cait Miller,
Christine Feehan, Kim Harrison, Wen Spencer, Susan Squires and E.E.
Knight. I'm not sure which one I'll pick up next. A lot of that decision
will be based on my mood at that moment.
What are your favorite scenes to write?
Pivotal ones! I love scenes that change the course of the story, one way
or another. Someone learns something or realizes a truth, and the world
shifts.
What advice can your give for an aspiring writer?
Don't take anything personally - learn whatever you can, from anyone you
can. Be professional about your writing and your business relationships.
Most important, persevere. Never give up, never surrender!
